Kyivstar has renewed 4G access in a number of regions; Locations are not reported for security reasons

Telecom operator “Kyivstar” has restored access to 4G/LTE mobile internet in many regions.

According to Ukrinform, Kyivstar announced this on Facebook.

“We can finally say that LTE works in many areas! Yes, the connection is still valid. Due to danger, we cannot share exact locations yet. But if Kyivstar has a 4G or LTE sign on the side, that’s it,” he said.

As reported, the telecom operator managed to restore the international voice roaming service the other day, eliminate the problem of call interruptions and stabilize communications in Kiev.

In addition, the company’s specialists restored the “Home Internet” service by almost 100%.

More than 95% of mobile communications base stations in the Ukrainian-controlled region are currently operating.

“Today we continue to restore data services. Slowly but surely. Yes, because security requires it,” Kyivstar added.

As Ukrinform reported, on the morning of December 12, Kyivstar became the target of a powerful hacker attack that caused a technical malfunction. Communication and internet access services became unusable.

The company assured that subscribers’ personal data will not be compromised. They also promised compensation to subscribers who did not have a connection or could not use the operator’s services.

The Security Service of Ukraine has initiated criminal proceedings regarding the cyber attack on Kyivstar. One of the versions of the investigation involved the participation of Russian special services.

It was learned that Solntsepek, one of the so-called hacker groups of the Russian Federation, claimed responsibility for the attack on Kievstar on December 13.

The cyber attack on Kyivstar in the Verkhovna Rada was called one of the most powerful attacks in the history of communications operators in Europe.
