Tests of the RQ-21 Blackjack unmanned aerial vehicle were carried out in the USA. The drone used high-precision Shryke bullets for the first time.
The RQ-21 Blackjack is an unmanned aerial vehicle manufactured by Insitu, part of Boeing Defense. Space and Security. It is equipped with a laser range finder, an infrared camera, an infrared target pointer and an electronic-optical system.
The length of the unmanned aerial vehicle is 1.7 meters and its wingspan is 3.1 meters. It is equipped with a single engine that allows you to develop speeds of up to 150 km/h. The RQ-21 Blackjack is capable of climbing to altitudes in excess of 5,000 meters.
Companies L3Harris, Insitu and Corvid participated in the testing. During a test session, the RQ-21 Blackjack was able to successfully hit two ground targets with two high-precision GPS-guided munitions.
Shryke is an anti-radar missile, the first modification of which was created 60 years ago. It was developed to destroy radar stations that are part of the enemy’s anti-aircraft missile systems.
