Acer, Asus and MSI announce new laptops that leverage the AI ​​capabilities of the new Intel Core Ultra chips.

With the introduction of the Intel Core Ultra, all computer brands traditionally follow suit with new devices that contain the chip. After Lenovo and Samsung, it is now the turn of Acer, Asus and MSI to announce their new devices.

They all use the new Intel chips. The main word Intel likes to use is AI. It goes without saying that laptop manufacturers are eager to jump on the same bandwagon to promote their new devices. For now, this affects application-specific functionalities such as advanced editing in Adobe Photoshop. Today, Intel supports more than 300 features across multiple partners.

Acer Predator Triton Neo 16

Aimed heavily at creative professionals, the Acer Predator Triton Neo 16 combines an Intel Core Ultra chip with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 in its most expensive configuration. The screen has a screen ratio of 16:10 and delivers a 3.2K resolution at 165 Hz. According to Acer, the panel is Calman verified (DeltaE less than two) and delivers a 100 percent DCI-P3 color space.

The RGB-backlit keyboard suggests that you can also have fun gaming with this device. If you like to play a game after work but aren’t a fan of flashy designs, you’ve come to the right place.

In Europe we can expect the Acer Predator Triton Neo 16 from March 2024. The recommended retail price for the basic model is 1,799 euros including VAT.

Acer Swift Go 14

The compact Acer Swift Go 14 (1.32 kg, 14.9 mm thick) has an Intel Core Ultra 7 155H on board, which should guarantee a battery life of up to 12.5 hours. The 14-inch OLED screen (2,880 x 1,800 pixels) has a 100 percent DCI-P3 color space and a refresh rate of 90 Hz. If you want a touchscreen, you have to compromise on an OLED panel with 1,920 x 1,200 pixels the number of pixels.

Video calls are the focus of the 1440p webcam. Despite the thin chassis, there is no lack of connectivity with 1x HDMI (v2.1), 2x USB-C (Thunderbolt 4) and a microSD card slot.

The Acer Swift Go 14 is available from this month and starts at 1,199 euros including VAT.

Asus Zenbook 14 OLED (UX3405)

Just like the Swift Go 14, the Asus Zenbook 14 OLED (UX3405), as the name suggests, also has an OLED screen. The 14-inch screen has a 3K resolution, 600 nits of maximum brightness and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The laptop is 14.9 millimeters thin and weighs 1.2 kg. Above the screen there is space for a Full HD webcam with IR for logging in with Windows Hello.

The laptop can be configured with an Intel Core Ultra 9 or Ultra 7 chip and has plenty of connectivity on board: 1x HDMI (v2.1), 2x USB-C (Thunderbolt 4) and an audio jack. The top configuration has 1TB SSD storage and 32GB RAM.

The Asus Zenbook 14 OLED (UX3405) is available starting this week. The recommended retail price of the basic configuration (Intel Core Ultra 7 155H, 1 TB SSD, 16 GB RAM) is 1,299 euros including VAT. Included are a laptop sleeve and a USB-A to RJ45 Ethernet adapter.

MSI Prestige 16 AI

Of all the manufacturers, MSI is the only one that plays up the AI ​​term when naming it. The new MSI Prestige 16 AI is aimed at creative professionals and is configurable with an Intel Core Ultra 7 or Ultra 9 chip. You can optionally deploy up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 if your additional workload requires additional processing power.

The 16-inch notebook is available in two versions: LCD (2,560 x 1,600 pixels) or OLED (3,840 x 2,400 pixels). According to MSI, both panels have a 100 percent DCI-P3 color gamut, with the LCD screen being the brightest at up to 400 nits.

The MSI Prestige 16 AI is also available in a 13-inch variant, the MSI Prestige 13 AI Evo. The new Prestige AI range is available for indoor use. The recommended retail price starts at 1,699 euros including VAT for the basic configuration (Intel Core Ultra 7 155H, 32 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD and LCD screen).
