If years ago Google-powered computers focused on the entry-level line and were the last to be updated with new hardware available, the arrival of the “Chromebook Plus” program changed things and today They can compete with other systems in almost all areas of computing. ASUS launches new Intel Core Ultra processors for this model. And it’s an absolute premiere, because it’s about low voltage version of the ‘U’ series more powerful but more energy guzzling compared to what we’ve seen from the ‘H’ series so far. The Taiwanese manufacturer assembles the Core Ultra 7 U with a TDP of 15 watts. It contains 12 cores, combining performance and efficiency, integrated graphics with 4 Intel Xe cores and a neural processing unit for hardware-accelerated AI functions.

This Chromebook isn’t just about the CPU, and it has a quality screen that confirms what we’ve been talking about with the “Plus” trim. It is a multi-touch LCD with 14 inches, native resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels and a maximum brightness of 500 nits, which should favor its use in mobility and outdoors. Its chassis is made of aluminum with MIL-STD-810H military resistance certification, 17 mm thick and weighs only 1.3 kg.

Well updated in wireless connectivity with Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2, as well as ports with two Thunderbolt 4 (USB Type-C), 1 HDMI 2.1, two USB 3 Type-A and a microSD card reader. It has a 63 Wh battery, certified Harman Kardon stereo speakers, dual microphones and a backlit keyboard.

ASUS will launch this ExpertBook CX54 with Core Ultra 5 125U, Core Ultra 5 135U or Core Ultra 7 155U processors; 8 or 16 GB LPDDR5X-6400 memory and storage with 128, 256 or 512 GB SSD. ASUS aims the laptop at the professional segment, but the truth is that it will appeal to every type of user, because it will one of the best Chromebooks available.
