Salesforce Data Cloud receives AI update

Salesforce announces an update to its AI and CRM platform. With AI, companies can now also process unstructured data in the data cloud.

Salesforce announced major updates to its data cloud. Companies can ingest unstructured data like PDFs, emails, audio and social media content and connect it with AI-powered experiences. The company wants to make its generative AI assistant Einstein Copilot even smarter.

Data Cloud Update

Data Cloud is an umbrella data platform from Salesforce and collects all of a company’s metadata in one place. It is the central data hub where all interactions with a customer come together. The aim of the announced update is to improve Einstein Copilot, Salesforce’s generative AI assistant launched in September.

The new update enables analysis of both structured and unstructured data such as PDFs, emails, audio and social media content. Real-time, relevant data is valuable for creating compelling customer experiences, driving accurate AI responses, and analyzing insightful customer relationships.

The value of unstructured data

Unstructured data comes in different formats that can provide very valuable information. “Most information about what’s happening in the real world is captured in unstructured formats,” said Rahul Auradkar, executive vice president and general manager of Unified Data Services and Einstein, in an interview with SiliconANGLE.

The importance of this unstructured data can be seen in various areas of a company. This updated version is an interesting improvement for marketers. You can use unstructured data from survey data to create better campaigns. In addition, sales meetings also run faster because, for example, the co-pilot listens to the audio data. But this is also very useful for the IT and operations teams, for example through machine logs, sensor measurements, images and audio recordings.
