The debut of the future Xbox and PlayStation is still a long way off. In the console war between the two technologies, There was only one instance where Microsoft seriously threatened Sony’s hegemony. It was, you’ll remember, with the Xbox 360 vs PlayStation 3 generation, and on that occasion the Redmond model arrived before launch (Sony’s bravery is still remembered to this day that the new generation started when they launched their console), and it was also a great success of the device in many ways. The PlayStation 3 was also a great console, but I personally have better memories of my 360.

We won’t dwell too much on the Xbox One fiasco, or its effects on the current generation (something Phil Spencer even pointed out), but it looks like Redmond has decided to take back the initiative. So as we can read in the Wccfts, Microsoft wants to get ahead of Sony by launching its future Xbox in 2026. More precise dates are not indicated, but we can imagine that it would be at the end of the year, so at this point we would be right in the middle of this generation, at least in the case of Microsoft.

Previous rumors had it that the next-gen APU would also be signed by AMD and based on the ZEN 6 architecture. However, this calendar adjustment would prevent that as that the future architecture will not be ready for an advanced launch date next generation Xbox. Of course, this opens a very interesting door, that aside from the date, Microsoft has also decided to compete in the price arena, offering a console with slightly lower specifications than the PS6, but with a more competitive price, and with a plan to revise the Pro, later, which has a CPU based on ZEN 6.
