Every model of Meta Quest now supports Microsoft Office with Word, Excel and PowerPoint applications.

Want to work on spreadsheets in virtual reality? With the introduction of the Office Suite on Meta Quest, Microsoft is making your dream come true. This is the basic suite with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Each app is extremely lightweight: 1.3 MB per application. Microsoft has kept everything small because the application runs entirely in the cloud. In this way, the software giant wants to keep performance high and you can also easily multitask between apps.

If you’re really ambitious, you can even open three windows side by side and work in VR in parallel. You can connect a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard to the Meta Quest for productive work.

Because the latest Meta Quest 3 for the first time mixed reality offers, the suite feels best there because you can comfortably see your keyboard and mouse in the real world while the virtual screen “floats” in the world in front of you.

Technically speaking, you could now work with Office in VR if you wanted. Applications like Virtual Desktop have been available for years and show your computer screen in VR, where you can open everything as if you were on an external monitor.

Anyone with a Meta Quest VR headset can now download Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint. In the long term, Azure and Windows 11 should also be available on Meta Quest. Apart from the intention, no further information is known yet.
