Google Play Forms and a key part of the ecosystem that Google has built for Android. It is true that in its early days, the app store of this operating system had a lot of room for improvement in multiple aspects like navigation, security, etc. However, over the years, its improvement has been more than significant, to the extent that today it does not have what to envy the iOS App Store, which has traditionally always been a reference.

Something that catches my eye on Google Play (in a good way) that I can’t find in the Apple store is a feature that I use quite regularly, which consists of be able to remotely launch the application installation on one of our devices. There are many practical use cases for this function, I personally resort to it when I find an interesting application while browsing the Internet on a PC and do not want to open the application store on a smartphone or tablet, search for the appropriate application and run its installer. Using this feature, I can start a process remotely and complete it using the respective device.

However, something I like more about the iOS user experience is in uninstall applications, because a long touch on their icon is enough to uninstall it, if we wish, which is not possible on Android, where we will have to do one more step (long touch -> Application information -> Uninstall) . And no, of course I’m not saying that uninstalling apps on Android is complicated (I repeat, it’s just one extra step), but there are reasonably common operations like this that I would appreciate if they were easier.

While no change is on the way in this regard, at least as far as we know, it looks like we’re in for some very interesting developments related to application management. And as we can read on 9to5Google, Google Play is adding a new feature that will allow users to remotely uninstall apps from their other Android devices. In exactly the same way that we can now install, but of course delete them.

This new feature from Google Play has several advantagesdepending on the personal preferences of each user. The ability to manage applications installed on my devices directly from the store’s web interface in a browser on a PC is extremely practical in my case, and I also see a lot of sense in it, e.g. in case of (even remote) installation of applications by mistake. But the most interesting part of this is undoubtedly that it opens the door for Google to develop a tool to manage all the applications we have installed on all our devices, which could appeal to many users (I, no doubt, among them).
