He said this during the World Economic Forum in Davos, Ukrinform correspondent reported.
“We are conducting multiple investigations and we want to make sure that every effort is made to combat misinformation,” he said.
According to him, YouTube continues to work in Russia to access objective information about events in Ukraine.
“That’s why we continue to work in Russia because we think it’s important to report independently to Russia,” he said.
He also gave an example of content that gave false information about the coronavirus, especially the spread of information that 5G allegedly caused the coronavirus.
“We’ve seen people attack 5G equipment because they thought it was COVID-19 and this will be an example of what we’re going to remove,” he said.
Vodzycki noted that instead there will be an increase in reliable information.
“If you are interested in a sensitive topic like news, health, science, we will make sure that what we recommend comes from a proven, well-known, reliable source,” he said.
According to him, it actually works on the same principle as Google. For example, if you type COVID, you will be able to see information from opinion leaders first, instead of newly downloaded posts from unknown people.
As Ukrinform reports, YouTube video hosting has removed more than 70,000 videos and 9,000 channels that spread fake information about the war in Ukraine and violated the rules of the platform.
