Windows 11 will stay, it’s getting clearer, on the list of Microsoft operating systems that its users liked the least. It’s true, yes, it might look good compared to Windows 8 and Vista, but of course, when compared to Windows 10 or especially Windows 7, it doesn’t come out very well. Which of course brings us to the fact that its launch was premature and Microsoft has been paying the consequences all along, including the fact that despite being free to update, Windows 10 continues to be the most used version with 68% in compared to 26.66% for Windows 11.
Part of the bad image that Windows 11 has among users is due to it, and this is also somewhat worrying the number of problems caused by a large portion of its updates. Just two weeks ago we told you the latest (so far) that the 23H2 update was causing some users serious performance issues while gaming on PC. It is true that Microsoft has published a solution to this problem, but it is surprising that a bug that affects such a common activity was not identified in the testing phase.
We had reason (and hoped) to think that this would be the last problem, via updates, of Windows 11 in 2023, but in the end it was not, and once again we find ourselves with another OS update that you should avoid. And as we can read in Bleeping Computer, lWindows 11 update KB5033375 ‘breaks’ WiFi connections in business and education environments. This update is part of Redmond’s traditional monthly Patch Tuesday.

At the moment, this problem does not appear to be reproduced on domestic routes, which will no doubt be a relief to many, but anyone connecting to a corporate and/or education network and doing so with Windows 11 (there are no reports of this update affecting Windows 10 connectivity in such infrastructures) should avoid update KB5033375 as well as the optional cumulative update KB50532288. And if they are already on your systems, you will need to uninstall them to restore your wireless internet connection.
Microsoft hasn’t replicated this problem with Windows 11, at least not yet and as we enter the festive season, it is possible that the response to the problem will take longer than we would like. But hopefully they will at least confirm the receipt and confirm that they are already working on it. Because? Well, because, as I already indicated, we are talking about a security update, and therefore delaying it is undoubtedly a problem.
