The company is recalling approximately 106,030 vehicles, but only 2020-2022 CR-V SUVs. Starting in June 2022, Honda began installing fuses in production cars in May 2021 after a short circuit occurred. At the time, the company thought such cases were isolated.
The 12-volt battery cables routed outside the body of the Honda CR-V Hybrid do not include a fuse in the power circuit, increasing the risk of an accident, the company said in a filing with the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). If the vehicle is involved in an accident, the battery cable may eventually overheat due to a short circuit, increasing the risk of fire or injury.
As of December 6, the company received 2 warranty claims regarding this issue, but no injuries or deaths were reported.
Dealers plan to replace the battery cable free of charge to the consumer.
As reported by Ukrinform, Tesla is recalling more than two million vehicles after the US regulator detected a partial failure in their autonomous driving system (autopilot).
