Iranian authorities hanged this Wednesday Samira Sabzian, convicted of allegedly murdering her husband in 2015.whom she married as a child and was abused by, in one of the cases raised by human rights organizations to warn about the prevalence of child marriage in Iran.

Sabzian was arrested while she was 19 years and he spent ten years without seeing his children, whom he was unable to meet until this month, when his execution seemed imminent. The NGO “Human Rights of Iran” confirmed she was finally executed in Gezel Hesar prison.

NGO director Mahmoud Amiri-Moghaddam stated that “Samira was victim of gender apartheidHe child marriage And domestic violence and today he died a victim of the killing machine of an incompetent and corrupt regime.”

“A week of campaigning was not enough to save her. We must fight every day to save thousands more people who may fall victim to this killing machine in order to preserve the survival of the regime,” he added.

In Iran, wedding is legal for girls over 13 years oldand parents can even obtain court permission to marry your daughters at a younger age.
