It didn’t take long for Microsoft to fix the Wi-Fi outage issue that occurred on some computers after installing the December Update for Windows 11 22H2 and Windows 11 23H2. It’s been a little over a day since the software giant confirmed the existence of the problem, and now a patch that fixes a bug that could disrupt Wi-Fi is available to users.
According to available data, Wi-Fi outages are observed after installing the mandatory security update KB5033375 and the optional update KB5032288. Judging by user feedback on Microsoft forums and other platforms, the issue is mostly seen on corporate wireless networks, educational institution networks, and public networks using 802.1x authentication.
Affected users do not need to uninstall the previous update or install anything themselves. Microsoft has already started rolling out the patch and it is expected to be delivered to all affected consumer devices within a day. Corporate network administrators will need to use a special group policy to normalize the operation of Wi-Fi.
