What did the US accuse Alex Saab of?

According to the indictment, between November 2011 and September 2015, Saab and his right-hand man Alvaro Pulido, who were arrested in April of this year in the Caribbean country on suspicion of corruption, conspired with others to launder and transfer their illicit proceeds. from Venezuela even bank accounts in the United States, so jurisdiction in this case belonged to Washington.

The release came as Venezuela also released about 30 people considered political prisoners, including 10 Americans whose exchange for Saab had been agreed upon by both governments.

Venezuela extradites military contractor

As part of the agreement, Venezuela also agreed to extradite to the United States US military contractor Leonard Francis, known as “Fat Leonard”, allegedly responsible for one of the largest corruption scandals in the US military.
