On Thursday, December 21, there was a global failure in the work of social network X, which was also observed in Ukraine.
This was reported by Reuters, Ukrinform reported.
Due to a malfunction, posts could not be displayed either in the feed or in the users’ personal profile. There have also been reports of issues with the app and crashes when logging in through the website.
The problems began to be seen around 07:00 in the morning, Kiev time. Both regular users and owners of the X Pro, formerly known as TweetDeck, have encountered difficulties.
The failure was global and was observed in various countries, including Ukraine, the UK, the USA, Canada and France. More than 7,000 users in Canada and the United Kingdom alone experienced issues with the platform, according to Downdetector.
As of now, the work of the social network has started again.
The company has not yet commented on the situation.
As Ukrinform reported, on the morning of December 12, the operator “Kyivstar” became the target of a powerful hacker attack, which led to a technical malfunction. Communication and internet access services became unusable.
The company assured that subscribers’ personal data will not be compromised. They also promised compensation to subscribers who did not have a connection or could not use the operator’s services.
The Security Service of Ukraine has initiated criminal proceedings regarding the cyber attack on Kyivstar. One of the versions of the investigation involved the participation of Russian special services.
