Honda Motor is recalling approximately 2.5 million vehicles in the United States due to the risk of fuel pump failure that could cause the engine to stall while driving.

As reported by Ukrinform, Reuters quotes this citing the statement of the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

To fix the problem, the dealer will replace the fuel pump module in the recalled vehicles at no charge, NHTSA said.

Some models of the Japanese automaker’s most popular cars, including the Honda Accord, Civic, CR-V, HR-V, Ridgeline, Odyssey and various Acura models, will be subject to recall.

NHTSA says the fuel pump inside the fuel tank can fail while driving and cause a crash. Recall letters are expected to be mailed to owners by the end of February next year.

As you may remember, yesterday, it was reported that the American division of Honda Motor Co. had recalled more than 100,000 hybrid cars in the United States due to fire danger.
