Google continues to tinker with its security tools and announces updates to the security review feature in Chrome. From now on, it will automatically run in the background, so users will receive a warning if their saved passwords contain a risk.

A few days ago, Google announced that it would block third-party cookies in Chrome to better protect user privacy. Now the company is rolling out some updates to its security audit feature, which checks whether your saved passwords are at risk. From now on, this process will take place automatically in the background and you will receive a warning when a password needs to be changed.

Security check function

Google’s security audit feature for Chrome aims to detect and warn users about risky passwords. With the new function from Google, this control now runs automatically in the background.

Additionally, this security feature also detects bad extensions or site permissions that you should check. Users can respond to these security warnings from Google via the Chrome menu. In addition, the security feature is also able to revoke the permissions of a website if the user has not visited it for a long time.

New additional functions

In addition to the updates to this security review, Google announced a new feature that allows you to save tab groups. This allows users to access these tabs whether they are at home, on the go, or working on their phone or laptop.

As a cherry on top, Google highlighted that it will be bringing Gemini, Google’s new AI model, to Chrome. The question remains what this will look like.
