The Ocala Police Department said in a statement posted on Facebook that upon arriving at the scene with a “heavy police presence,” the shooter was no longer active.
However, they decided to order the evacuation of the shopping center, where “several people were injured.”
“We believe the shooter has left the area and is on the run,” Ocala authorities explained.
They added that they are investigating what happened, but at the moment they believe that the shooting was planned.
Likewise, the Ocala Police Department asked people to stay away from the area. (Europe Press)
