Researchers from the Technical University of Denmark have developed an artificial intelligence system that can predict the death of people.
In order to combat serious diseases, this system combines all medical data from a person’s life in order to predict as accurately as possible what could lead to the person’s death.
This is reported by Ukrinform, citing a study published in the scientific journal Nature.
“Our study allows us to explore mechanisms that could potentially impact people’s lives, as well as opportunities for personalized intervention in appropriate situations,” the paper explains.
The ChatGPT model was used to develop artificial intelligence called Life2vec. The researchers integrated medical and social data from six million Danes from 2008 to 2020, such as doctor visits, medical history and social status, into their model.
After developing the database, Danish researchers studied a group of people who died between the ages of 35 and 65, half of whom died between 2016 and 2020. The purpose of the artificial intelligence was to determine the cause of death based on their lives.
The purpose of this artificial intelligence is not to predict fate, but is designed primarily to prevent serious diseases and causes of premature death, or at least preventable ones. It will also provide a better understanding of the risks and conditions that end human life.
The study’s results were 11% better than models traditionally used by insurance companies to predict a person’s death, according to the report.
As reported, the European Union has reached an agreement on artificial intelligence law. Members of the European Parliament, representatives of EU member states and experts from the European Commission signed a political agreement on artificial intelligence law and agreed on the envisaged implementation, facial recognition and the use of artificial intelligence by law enforcement.
