In smartphones, software is as important as hardware. Updates can improve our devices by adding new features and improving performance. However, operating systems such as Android and iOS are not easy to use. Even the slightest mistake can cause serious problems and cause millions of iPhone users to suffer. Unfortunately, Apple experienced this firsthand when users who downloaded iOS 17.2.1 began experiencing issues with features such as cellular connectivity. Details are here…

A few days ago Apple released iOS 17.2.1. The update did not bring any new features to the iPhone, but it finally solved the battery drain issue that had been around for a while. While the company solved one problem, it replaced it with something much more frustrating. It looks like iPhone users around the world are experiencing cellular issues after the iOS 17.2.1 update.

Despite attempts to reset the phone, including factory reset, the problem could not be resolved. Apple has not released any statement to reassure users on the issue. Based on my personal experience, I installed the update released on December 19 the day it was released. It has been more than 10 days and I have not encountered this problem on my iPhone 14 Pro Max. Based on this, it is likely that the problem is not widespread.

Users who have not installed the iOS 17.2.1 update should be careful as problems may occur with these updates. It is likely that Apple will fix these issues by releasing the 17.2.2 or 17.3 update soon. If you’re having problems, you can find a workaround by signing up for the iOS 17.3 public beta program. The steps to follow are:

  1. Sign up for the beta program: Apple
  2. Back up iPhone: Back up to iCloud or iTunes.
  3. Download the beta profile: Settings > General > Profile.
  4. Install the beta version: Settings > General > Software Update.
  5. Follow the instructions: Download and install iOS 17.3 Public Beta.
