Facebook has confirmed that hiding posts with these hashtags is due to the algorithm. Now the moderators have intervened and the posts are gradually being restored.

Meta spokesperson Andy Stone told Reuters that automated systems that scan images of violence on Facebook and Instagram, owned by the company, are responsible for blocking hashtags, including #bucha and #buchamassacre.

This happened automatically because of the graphic content people posted using these hashtags. We quickly unlocked the hashtags when we found out about the issue yesterday,
Stone wrote on Twitter.

The company also said it was aware of the issue and was trying to quickly unblock posts with the hashtags #Bucha and #BuchaMassacre.

It should be added that human rights organizations fiercely criticized Meta for removing content reflecting the real situation in Ukraine during the war, because it is actually evidence of war crimes that can be seen by people all over the world.
