India welcomed 2024 space mission launch which will promote the study of black holes, the first in the new year in which the Asian country plans to continue preparations for its first manned mission into space.
“Normal takeoff. XPoSat satellite successfully launched— the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) noted on social network X this Monday.
Launch of a satellite propelled by a rocket PSLV-C58took place at 9:10 local time (3:40 GMT) from the center of Sriharikota in the southeastern state of Andhra Pradesh and was launched into a circular orbit at an altitude of 350 kilometers.
After this, ISRO plans to “conduct a study polarization X-ray measurements from celestial sources,” including black holes, through the two payloads it carries.
These are POLIX, an X-ray polarimeter, and XSPECT, designed for X-ray spectroscopy and time measurement, the space agency said in a statement.
This first mission of 2024 paves the way for an ambitious year for ISRO, one of whose main goals will be to continue preparations for the first manned spaceflight, planned for 2025, which will send astronauts into a 400 km altitude orbit. for a three day mission.
These new aspirations follow the successful launch and landing of the unmanned space mission Chandrayaan-3 last August, which placed an explorer near the moon’s south pole, a never-before explored side of the Earth’s moon.
This milestone made India the fourth country to perform a controlled landing on the surface of the Moon. Subsequently, in September last year, the Asian country launched its first solar exploration mission, Aditya-L1 (“Sun” in Sanskrit), which plans to reach its goal on January 6.
