Chinese company BYD broke a record in electric car sales and announced that it is one step closer to taking the world’s largest electric car manufacturer, Elon Musk’s Tesla, from the top.

The company said it sold a record 526,000 battery-powered cars in the last three months of 2023.
This was facilitated by an increase in sales of more than 70% in December.
BYD added that approximately 1.6 million of its total vehicle sales were battery-powered vehicles alone.
Industry analysts estimate that Tesla sold approximately 483,000 electric vehicles in the last three months of 2023, for a total of 1.82 million electric vehicles for the year.
It is stated that the American company Tesla plans to publish the latest quarterly data on automobile production and deliveries later on Tuesday, January 2.
