LG MyView is a new series of TVs that the South Korean firm qualifies as “smart” thanks to the integrated support of streaming services through the system. webOS and access to cloud-based productivity services such as Microsoft 365.

Monitors are the main peripherals of any PC, but they are generally “dumb” products where content generated by a personal computer or other device is displayed. LG MyViews are promoted as smart because – in addition to being used as a standard screen – they can offer entertainment and productivity services. without the need to connect to a PC.

The range includes three versions (32SR85U, 32SR83U and 32SR70U) differentiated by connectivity and some added features such as a detachable web camera, as their screen is practically the same. It goes o.a IPS with a diagonal of 32 inches diagonal, s 4K native resolution (3840 x 2160 pixels), 350 or 400 nits brightness and 16:9 aspect ratio. They have support for high dynamic range HDR10, 95% coverage for the DCI-P color gamut and a refresh rate of 60 Hz.

They’re obviously not meant for gaming, but – apart from the size and resolution – They have other advantages. Up to three USB Type-C ports with Display Port support and USB Type-C PD charging capabilities need to be added to the HDMI ports, in addition to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. They support wireless screen mirroring from smartphones and tablets with AirPlay 2 or Miracast support. They also include a remote control for content management.

And the integration of the Linux Mobile operating system, such as webOS, which LG also uses on its TVs or projectors, such as the recent CineBeam Qube, allows access to features that are not possible on a regular monitor, such as access to paid streaming services or free or cloud productivity services such as Microsoft 365 or Google Calendar. And all this without using a PC.

For South Korea, its price starts at 699,000 won (approximately $538), but we will have to wait for the official price for the international market at CES, where LG will display them. Interesting with its integrated “smart” functions.
