The Ingenuity helicopter of the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) covered a distance of 260 meters as part of its 70th flight on the Red Planet.
This was reported by NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), as reported by Ukrinform. social networks H.
“The Mars helicopter completed its flight 70, covering 260 meters in 132 seconds,” the laboratory said.
JPL also added that this distance is almost equal to the size of nine blue whales.
It is stated that Ingenuity took a new black and white photo of the Red Planet during its regular flight to Mars.
As Ukrinform reported, the Ingenuity helicopter was delivered to the Red Planet along with NASA’s Perseverance rover on February 18, 2021. Ingenuity made its first flight on April 19. The $85 million helicopter became the first aircraft launched to another planet.
