A few months after the Quest 3 virtual reality headset went on sale, Meta Platforms announced a price reduction for the previous generation headset and additional accessories. Thus, the cost of the 128 GB storage capacity version of Quest 2 dropped from $299 to $249, and the price of the 256 GB storage capacity version of the device dropped from $349 to $299.

Notably, Meta dropped the prices of the Quest 2 headsets in its annual Black Friday sale, but now the company has decided to keep them at that level permanently. The retailer also offers discounted accessories for the Quest 2. The Elite Trap headphone strap has been reduced from $120 to $90 with batteries, and from $60 to $50 without batteries. The Quest 2 carrying case is now $45 instead of $60. The Active Pack accessory set dropped from $70 to $60, and the Fit Pack dropped from $50 to $40.

In July 2022, Meta increased the cost of the Quest 2 by $100 to $399.99. Last June, the company announced the Quest 3, and the price of the Quest 2 dropped again to $299.99. Meta currently offers users more than 500 games for virtual reality. Last year, the company also inked a major deal that allowed it to launch Roblox on Quest headsets via the Meta Quest Store. Another price cut for the Quest 2 could encourage people to buy a more affordable headset instead of spending $500 on the Quest 3.
