‘We see no acts of genocide’ in Gaza: US State Department

The United States does not view the actions in Gaza as genocideThis was stated by State Department spokesman Matthew Miller.

The above, after South Africa initiate the procedure before international Court (ICJ) for Israeli attacks on the Palestinian enclave.

“These are charges that should not be taken lightly (…) we are not seeing a single act that constitutes genocide,” Miller said at a news conference, adding that this view belongs to the State Department.

The International Court of Justice will hold public hearings on South Africa’s complaint

The International Court of Justice has scheduled public hearings on the South African complaint for January 11 and 12.

Israel said it would defend itself against the charges.

Israeli repression has caused the death of more than 22 thousand Palestiniansdevastated much of the enclave and plunged its 2.3 million inhabitants into a humanitarian catastrophe.

Miller said he had no assessment as to whether war crimes or crimes against humanity had been committed.

US criticizes Israeli ministers for resettling Palestinians
