New Windows PCs released this year will most likely have a Microsoft Copilot keyboard shortcut. Microsoft wants to accelerate the adoption of AI.

Microsoft has big plans for its copilot. To make the AI assistant as accessible as possible, a brand new keyboard shortcut has been developed for Windows laptops. Microsoft is releasing a teaser today to officially announce the Copilot key.

With the push of a button, you can access Copilot in regions where Copilot is officially available. If this is not already the case, the shortcut will redirect you to the start screen. Microsoft compares the Copilot key to the Windows key combination, which has been a fixture on laptop keyboards for thirty years, although it is not yet clear whether the Copilot key can be integrated into key combinations.

It’s up to manufacturers to decide whether to integrate the key combination into their keyboards. However, we expect most major manufacturers to do so. The announcement also falls perfectly on the eve of CES 2024. Many new laptops will be announced in the coming days, with AI being the overarching hype word. Microsoft Copilot opens the doors to comprehensive AI integrations that can run on your PC.

The first announcement of a laptop with a copilot button wasn’t long in coming. Today Dell is launching its latest XPS laptops with the keyboard shortcut. You can read all about these laptops here.

But Microsoft isn’t just limiting itself to PC users with Copilot. A mobile application for Android and iOS has also recently been available. Microsoft will also announce a new generation of Surface laptops this year. This announcement may not happen during CES 2024, but we expect it to happen in the first quarter.
