MSI will introduce its portable console at CES 2024

Looking through the list of manufacturers that have already told us what will arrive at CES 2024, I see that MSI was among the earliest, as it gave us a preview of its new QD-OLED gaming monitors in early November, which will be presented at a sold-out event in Las Vegas . It was now clear that their proposal for the fair was not going to stop there and that they were preparing something to surprise and interest us.

It was a logical thing to think, and now we can say that it was also the right thing to do, even if we lacked something more concrete. But yes, I am speaking in the past tense because It was MSI itself, through his Instagram account, which was responsible for dispelling our doubts but also for creating a lot of expectations. And as you can see in this report, the tech company is showing us what looks like a portable console, which is further confirmation of the buzz of this market.

The video is a teaser, yes, only the first of them The images that make it up make us think that this is a portable console, because two sticks surrounded by RGB LED lighting can be sensed in a device that has the shape of a device of this type thanks to the senseable contour. The rest of the images show us several grilles, one of them complete with the signature dragon logo. All this in just five seconds, which ends with a location, as indicated at the beginning, at CES 2024.

Of course, since this is a teaser, we don’t have specifics about MSI’s future portable console.. However, both because of the company’s own profile and from what we can infer from the design that can be guessed from the images shown, I put my hand on the fact that it is starting to compete with high-end notebooks, ie. the one that represents the ASUS ROG Ally, if we talk about big brands, and beasts like those signed by OneXPlayer among specialized assemblers.

If we were told two and a half years ago that the offer of portable consoles would be as wide and varied as it is today, and that everything indicates that it will continue to be so for a good season, we certainly would not have believed it. However, Valve’s bold move with the Steam Deck actually marked the resurrection of a device category that seemed doomed to oblivion after the rise of smartphones. So I very much welcome this the second youth of portable consoles.
