Google Bard Advanced will probably cost money. This is evident from code already hidden on Bard’s website. Google is offering free access to Bard Advanced for three months, meaning the generative AI solution will become paid for after a trial period. Additionally, you apparently need a Google One account to use the service.
Hello, Bard Advanced will be free for 3 months and you also need Google One, enjoy
The fact that it is in production means that it is ready and being tested (currently an experiment).
Again, this isn’t a leaker, but Google keeps making things public and literally no one notices… pic.twitter.com/YqfAK77f0F

That’s not surprising. OpenAI also makes its most advanced version of ChatGPT and Dall-E available exclusively to paying customers. This also applies to Microsoft, which uses the AI capabilities of Bing and Copilot to attract users. Training generative AI models costs a lot of money, but using them after training is not free either. Inference by many users also costs the necessary computing power. It’s quite logical that Google wants to see financial results after its investments.
The question is to what extent Google will be successful. A competitive price seems essential, as independent research shows that Gemini is dumber than the older (free) GPT 3.5 and certainly than the paid GPT 4 model. It’s unclear when Google will officially announce Bard Advanced. The start is basically planned for the beginning of this year.
