Dell XPS 2024 is a new part of one of the reference series premium laptops and they’ll hit the market this quarter with plenty of new features, both in design and internal hardware, in addition to being one of the first to incorporate the physical keyboard button for the Copilot assistant that Microsoft announced yesterday.
Dell decided to reset the general design in favor of what we saw with Glass with haptic backlighting. They are produced in aluminium with Gorilla Glass protection and among other common features we can highlight the 1080p webcam with IR sensor and Windows Hello for security and authentication tasks. As an additional detail, we would like to mention that this is the first device we see with a button for Microsoft Copilot.
As for the internal hardware, the manufacturer is betting on new Intel Core Ultra processors with the option of installing Core Ultra 5 125H, Core Ultra 7 155H, Core Ultra 7 165H or Core Ultra 9 185H. Another novelty is three variants launched on the market according to screen size. Dell is replacing the previous 15- and 17-inch models with a range that remains on three versions of 13, 14 and 16 inches. We will review the characteristics of each of them.
Ultralight series, weighing only 1.17 kg, mounts the screen by 13.3 inches with several panels to choose from. Basic model with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz; the second with QHD resolution and touch and the third as the top of the range with an OLED panel, touch and a native resolution of 2880 x 1800 pixels.
You can install up to a Core Ultra 7 155H with integrated Intel on the internal hardware Very well connected, launches new wireless standards, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. It has two Thunderbolt 4 ports (Display Port 2.1 mode), a fingerprint reader, a four-speaker system and a 55 Wh battery.
In the middle of this Dell range, the CPU, memory and storage options are the same as before, but here Dell offers a dedicated NVIDIA RTX 4050 graphics card.
With a weight of 1.68 kg and an aluminum chassis like the rest of the range, it increases the number of ports to three Thunderbolt and adds support for microSD cards. It has a larger capacity 69.5Wh battery and a 100W power adapter to support a dedicated graphics card.
The top of the range increases the screen size to 16.3 inches, with a choice of two panels, FHD or 4K touch OLED with a refresh rate of 90 Hz. The hardware options also increase to a Core Ultra 9 185H, 64 Gbytes of LPDDR5x-7467 memory and a 2 TB SSD. Here, Dell offers the option of dedicated graphics up to RTX 4070.
Like the rest of the range, very good connectivity with Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 and three Thunderbolt 4 ports. Its battery increases to 100 Wh and includes a 130 watt power adapter. Includes a 130W USB Type-C power adapter. The audio system is powered by four speakers, 2 x 3W main speakers and 2 x 2W tweeters, plus dual microphones. Its weight is 2.13 kg, corresponding to its size and screen. Its price starts at 1900 dollars.
These Dell XPS 2024s are a very complete line. They will be available with Windows 11 pre-installed and a silver or graphite finish during this quarter.
