Samsung has started to release the Android 14 update along with One UI 6 for the Galaxy A52, Galaxy A23 4G and Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2022). These updates introduce new features and improvements, mainly focused on improving the user interface and updating functionality.
For Galaxy A23 4G users, the update will come with the November 2023 security patch and firmware versions A235FXXU4DWL1 (Russia) or A235MUBU4DWL1 (Panama). The South Korean version of the SM-A235N is not currently available.
Galaxy A52 owners will receive a firmware update and security patches ending in EWL3 starting December 2023. The update is approximately 2.2GB in size and may be available in different regions, so patience is key.
As for the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2022), the tablet gets Android 14 with firmware P613XXU4CWL1 but retains the security patch from November 2023 instead of the latest version from January 2024. The update is now available in France and some other European countries, with a wider rollout expected soon.
To check for updates on your A52 or A23 4G or tablet, go to your phone’s settings menu, tap Software Update and select Download and Install.
One UI 6 brings many important changes. The Quick Panel has been updated to make it easier to access frequently used settings, and the new font has refreshed the overall visual experience. Music lovers can enjoy the new media player widget for lock screen and notification management.
Personalization takes center stage, with larger font options and placement of a clock widget on the lock screen. There are also two new widgets: Custom Camera for quick access to camera settings and Weather Insights for detailed weather information.
The Settings app has also been replaced with a dedicated Battery section for easier navigation. The Camera is now simplified for easier use and the Photo Editor now has larger controls for easy access.
The Weather app now provides more detailed information about your favorite places in a new, responsive design. Finally, Samsung simplified the app bar and home screen by removing its branding from standard app icons.
