South Korean company HL Mando, which specializes in components for electric cars and autonomous vehicles, is developing Parkie, an autonomous robot that can park the car on its own.
This was reported by the Green Car Congress, according to Ukrinform’s report.
Parkie is a 90 mm high flat platform designed for autonomous parking of various types of vehicles, including sports cars and SUVs.
The robot can also measure the weight of the vehicle, the distance between the wheels, recognize the license plate and evaluate road conditions before parking the vehicle.
Parkie works on the basis of level four autonomous driving technology where human supervision is not required.
The company plans to conduct field trials of Parkie next April. Their results play a decisive role in evaluating the effectiveness of the autonomous parking robot.
As reported by Ukrinform, LG company has developed a two-legged assistant robot that works on the basis of artificial intelligence (AI) and can move independently around the house.
