Acer relies entirely on 3D technology for its new laptops and monitors. The Aspire 3D 15 “SpatialLabs Edition” converts 2D content into 3D images without the need for special glasses.

Acer has unveiled its new year lineup at CES 2024 in Las Vegas, which officially begins tomorrow evening. In addition to the Aspire Vero 16 and the Swift Go “AI PCs”, the Aspire 3D 15 “SpatialLabs Edition” stands out (in the truest sense of the word). The laptop is equipped with display technology that can convert 2D images into 3D. The 15.6-inch UHD screen contains sensors that follow your eyes and create a 3D effect without the need for expensive VR glasses.

The 3D visualizations can be displayed in the entire RGB spectrum. You can switch between different dimensions using the 2D and 3D views. To handle the heavy workload of 3D, the laptop is equipped with an Intel Core i7 13620H processor and an Nvidia GeForce RTX for better graphics work. Add to that 32GB of DDR5 and 2TB of memory and you have a solid powerhouse. The integrated cooling technology protects the internal elements in the 3D display.

With the help of AI

Although Acer refrained from putting the “AI laptop” sticker on the Aspire 3D 15 SpatialLabs Edition, the press release does a lot of juggling with AI functionalities. Laptop owners get access to SpatialLabs Experience Center Pro to make the most of the 3D functionalities. SpatialLabs Go leverages native AI models to transform 2D content into 3D visualizations in real-time, from your photos to YouTube videos.

SpatialLabs Model Viewer is aimed at graphics professionals by importing CGI and CAD file formats and converting them into 3D graphics. The laptop also supports OpenXR Runtime for seamless creation of 3D content in compatible applications to accelerate graphics projects. Finally, the AI madness becomes physically visible with the addition of the new Copilot keyboard shortcut.

No picture without a screen

For even more 3D fun, Acer is also launching the Predator SpatialLabs View 27 monitor, aimed at gamers. This is an extension of the SpacialLabs View Pro 27, which Acer launched for business customers at the beginning of October. The monitor uses native shader and driver technology to develop custom 3D profiles using existing depth information from games. Spatial sound provides an immersive experience.
