Samsung is showing its latest updates to the Smart Monitor M8 at CES 2024. This range of smart monitors takes it a step further with new features that work without the use of a PC.
The previous generation of Samsung’s Smart Monitor M8 already offered several functions that worked without a PC, such as Netflix, YouTube and the app version of Office 365. At CES 2024, the company presented further functions of its latest smart monitor series. The new Smart Monitor M80D is expected to be available later this year, but the price has not yet been discussed.
The Smart Monitor M80D measures 32 inches and has a 4K resolution. Without a PC, the Smart Screen runs on Tizen: an operating system for smart devices that Samsung developed itself. The screen has a webcam on board. Combined with the Office apps, you get quite a bit of productivity without having to take out your laptop.
This new device also works with HDR10+, has built-in 2-channel speakers and Bluetooth for direct connection to other gadgets such as wearables. In addition, the new model has a tool for sending images and text from other Samsung devices to the monitor and can be integrated with Galaxy Buds.
