Acer updates its Swift laptops with Intel Core Ultra

Acer presented the Acer Swift 2024 laptops at the Las Vegas show. The new ultralights rely on Intel Core Ultra processors and AI support, NVIDIA RTX 40 dedicated graphics, OLED panel screens and wireless connectivity updated to the latest standard, Wi-Fi 7. Acer Swift 2024, Go 16 and 14 series

The new ultralights are verified for the Intel Evo platform, opt for a light and thin design with an aluminum chassis and a screen that opens up to 180 degrees to facilitate monitoring during collaboration tasks. Swift Go 16 offers a 16-inch OLED display diagonal with a native resolution of 3200 x 2000 and a refresh rate of 120 Hz, while the Swift Go 14 also has an OLED panel with 14 inches with a resolution of 2880 x 1800 pixels and a refresh rate of 90 Hz.

Both meet the DisplayHDR True Black 500 standard and support 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut. Both models have TÜV Rheinland Eyesafe display certification, which helps reduce the effects of blue light on eye fatigue. Acer offers optional multi-touch panels with WUXGA resolution for those who want to use optical pens for note-taking, sketching and drawing.

Its hardware base consists of new Intel Core Ultra processors with integrated Arc graphics a new NPU to support tasks that involve artificial intelligence. They support up to 32GB of LPDDR5X memory and dual slots for installing 2TB PCIe Gen 4 SSDs.

Its connectivity has also been updated to include the Wi-Fi 7 standard and dual USB Type-C ports with Thunderbolt 4, both with a fast charging system that should give the models up to 10 and 12.5 hours of autonomy. 16 and 14″. They also feature a USB Type-A port, an HDMI 2.1 output, a microSD card reader and a 1440p QHD web camera with TNR. It will become the new star of this ultralight series and is specifically designed for content creation, enabling faster and AI-enhanced workflows for live streaming, video editing and 3D rendering. It has a screen 14-inch OLED, a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a resolution of 2880 x 1800 pixels. The difference from the Go series lies in Calman certificationto achieve color accuracy with Delta E<2 in animations, photos and videos, support for 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut and a maximum brightness of 500 nits with VESA DisplayHDR TrueBlack 500 certification.

Acer has special graphics to power this screen RTX 40 from NVIDIA, which, although not a professional series, can be used in these tasks thanks to the validation of the NVIDIA Studio drivers that come pre-installed. Of course, if you play games, you can use the standard drivers, although this is not its main function, but the creation function.

It also features the latest processors Intel Core Ultra, 32 GB LPDDR5X memory and 1Tbyte PCIe Gen 4 SSD. In connectivity, we see a FHD AI webcam with Transient Noise Reduction (TNR) with three microphones for better audio capture. It supports Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth LE Audio, dual USB Type-C ports, an HDMI 2.1 port and a MicroSD card reader.

Acer Swift 2024, availability and price

The new Acer laptops will come pre-installed with Windows 11 and will be available in Europe from February at the following prices:

  • Acer Swift Go 16 (SFG16-72/T) for €1,149.
  • Acer Swift Go 14 (SFG14-73/T) for €1,099.
  • Acer Swift X 14 (SFX14-72G) for €1,799.
