Luxury carmaker Rolls-Royce on Monday reported an “exceptional” 2023, with record sales and rising demand for its all-electric Spectre.
This was reported by Euronews, as reported by Ukrinform.
BMW-owned Rolls-Royce delivered 6,032 cars to customers in 2023; this was slightly above the company’s previous record of 6,021 cars sold in 2022.
The company said the large sales volumes were driven by demand for its Cullinan, Ghost and Phantom models, as well as its Specter electric model.
Rolls-Royce sales were highest in the United States, the automaker’s largest market, followed by China and Hong Kong, where demand fell after the late lifting of restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Record growth was also seen in sales in Europe, including the UK. Rolls-Royce added that the increased demand for luxury cars in the Middle East is linked to the demand for sophisticated individual work in interior and exterior design, while in South Korea this is due to the increased demand for luxury products.
The company’s new CEO, Chris Brownridge, has described 2023 as an “exceptional” year for Rolls-Royce, with strong sales in all regions and across all models.
“It is particularly pleasing to see the huge interest and demand for the Specter, which supports the decision to adopt a bold, all-electric strategy for future model development and production,” Brownridge said.
Volvo Cars said on Friday it sold a record number of cars last year, exceeding 2022 figures by 15%.
