We continue to review the most important news from CES 2024 and this time we have to talk about the ASUS ROG Phone 8, the latest update of the well-known gaming smartphone the Taiwanese giant. ASUS has maintained the commitment we’ve seen with previous generations of the lineup two different models, one standard and one superior.
In the previous generation, the flagship model was the ASUS ROG Phone 7 Ultimate, a terminal that we had the opportunity to analyze and left a very good taste in our mouths. The ASUS ROG Phone 8 series has seen a change in nomenclature as the top model ditches the ‘Ultimate’ name in favor of ‘Pro’.
As you might imagine, the ASUS ROG Phone 8 Pro ranks above the standard model, but unlike what happened in previous generations, it seems that the only major difference this time around will be the memory and storage configuration, which It gets up to 24 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage capacity. Yes, it is spectacular even for a smartphone of this class.
The ASUS ROG Phone 8 has a very careful design and has a eminently game aesthetic, but without unnecessary excesses, which allows it to offer a balanced line and an elegant surface. Both models have LED lighting and the Pro version also has a rear matrix with 341 mini-LEDs that we can easily customize, an approach similar to the one we saw in the ASUS ROG Phone 7 Ultimate.
ASUS ROG Phone 8 has a starting price 1,129 eurosand the Pro model costs 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage capacity 1,229 euros in pre-sale. The version with 24 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage capacity goes up 1529 euros.
Both models will be launched January 31st, which is the date listed on the ASUS official website for the shipment of completed pre-purchased products. Please note that this release may be staggered depending on availability.
