If you think that your profile is really restricted on Instagram (the drop in reach may not necessarily be the result of a ban), you should follow the following recommendations: 24 Channels.

1. Check the status of your Instagram account

Before resorting to drastic measures, it is worth checking whether Instagram has limited your access. Luckily, the social network has a built-in tool you can use to check if you’ve posted something that violates Instagram’s Community Guidelines.

While this is a reliable way to check if your account’s visibility is restricted by Instagram, we have a caveat that you must have a writer or professional Instagram account to use this feature.

To check the status of your Instagram account, follow these steps:

  1. Go to your profile by clicking on your profile picture in the bottom right corner of the screen.
  2. Tap the three-line icon in the top-right corner of the screen and select Settings & privacy.
  3. Scroll down the page until you see “Account status” under the title “Additional information and support”.

You’ll now be able to see if you’ve posted something that violates Instagram’s Community Guidelines. If so, you can appeal the decision. Or you can edit the post and make sure it complies with the rules. You can also delete the post entirely.

2. Removal of any content that violates Instagram Community Guidelines

Shadowbanning on Instagram is often a result of violating the social network’s Community Guidelines, and repeated violations can even result in the ban being extended. One of the easiest yet most effective ways to unshadowban is to play by Instagram rules.

This means always sharing original and non-offensive content, growing your account organically, and avoiding material that may violate these rules.

Examine your Instagram profile carefully and review your posts. Look for any content that could potentially violate Instagram’s rules. This includes posts containing explicit or objectionable material, hate speech or harassment of any kind.

Once you’ve determined what you want to delete, Follow the steps below:

  1. Click on the three dots in the upper right corner of the post.
  2. choose To pick up from the menu that appears.
  3. click To pick upTo permanently remove the post from your account. click To pick up Again to confirm your decision.

Similarly, determine if anything you post on your Instagram story violates Instagram rules and remove the post in question from your story. This applies to images, videos and posts you may have shared.

3. Stop using banned hashtags on Instagram

While incorporating hashtags into your posts is important and ensures your content remains accessible on Instagram, using hashtags associated with inappropriate content can reduce your account’s visibility. If you were unable to identify a specific post using the feature “Account status”Another thing you can do is go through your Instagram posts and see if you are using banned hashtags.

Surprisingly, Instagram banned hashtags like #snapchat and #alone. Therefore, it is very likely that you have accidentally used a banned hashtag on Instagram because you did not know that it was not banned.

If you’re not sure if a hashtag violates Instagram’s Community Guidelines, an easy way to check is to type it into the search bar. If a hashtag doesn’t appear in results at all or isn’t flagged as violating Instagram rules, it’s a good idea to remove it from existing posts and avoid using it in the future.

4. Revoke Instagram’s access to third-party apps

According to Instagram’s Community Guidelines, creating unoriginal activities is prohibited. Users may find that certain parts of their Instagram accounts are restricted if they continue to use third-party applications.

Whether you’re using a third-party post scheduling app or a follower tracking app, using third-party apps unrelated to Meta is one of the most common reasons why you’re being ghosted. Fortunately, you can revoke Instagram’s access to third-party apps, and hopefully your shadowban will be lifted as well.

Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Go to your Instagram profile by clicking on your profile picture.
  2. Tap the three-lined icon at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Go now Settings and Privacy > Website permissions > Apps and websites
  4. click ActiveTo see all apps currently connected to your Instagram account. Click to revoke Instagram’s access to them To pick up.

5. Use content warnings for sensitive posts on Instagram

It’s especially important to be careful and thoughtful when posting sensational images or videos that could upset your target audience.

For example, it is normal for information to be disseminated about explosions. However, if you choose to share images of victims or videos from the scene, you run the risk of receiving complaints.

So if you decide to post content that might shock your audience, it’s a good idea to use content warnings for sensitive posts. Thus, each user of the social network will have the opportunity to decide for himself whether he wants to interact with your post.

Although Instagram automatically displays content warnings for posts it deems sensitive, this feature cannot be directly applied by users.

6. Stop all bot-like activity and spamming on Instagram

Similar to buying Instagram followers, engaging in activities such as quickly following hundreds of accounts, mass commenting, and liking a large number of posts in a short period of time may cause Instagram systems to flag your account as potentially automated or spammy.

While you may see this as a way to quickly gain Instagram followers, you will be jeopardizing your account’s reach. Instead, we recommend engaging with writers who publish content that aligns with your interests.

7. Take a break from posting on Instagram

If you cannot determine the reason for your shadowban on Instagram, we recommend that you temporarily take a break from posting on the platform. If your engagement has already stopped, any new content you post will not be seen by most of your followers, regardless of its quality. That’s why it’s a good idea to take a break from publishing stories, videos, or posts.

Although there is not much information about the duration of the shadow ban, it is automatically removed over time. We recommend starting with a short three-day break and extending this period to a maximum of 14 days if your shadowban is still active.

Unfortunately, the duration of a shadow ban on Instagram can vary from one day to several weeks. If all else fails and you’ve taken a two-week break from posting on Instagram, you should contact Instagram Support.
