Nokia’s senior executives predict that 6G networks will emerge by 2030. This was reported by CNBC.
Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Nokia CEO Pecca Lundmark said sixth-generation networks will appear on the commercial market by 2030. The businessman also noted that in the near future, the smartphone “will cease to be the most common interface.”
Lundmark suggested that by the end of the decade, humanity would abandon traditional phones in favor of more convenient and modern devices. Among them is the head of Nokia, which includes smart glasses and other accessories for users to wear on their faces. “A lot of this will be done directly into our bodies,” Lundmark said. The company’s top executive also predicted that by 2030, technology to create digital copies would emerge that would require “massive computing resources.”
Speaking in the same session, Google CFO Ruth Porat said that augmented reality technology will solve many problems at home. “We expect the distribution of smart glasses and the ability to translate text on the glasses display, for example,” Porat said.
