This CES 2024, as in previous editions of this fair, combines very notable announcements and launches with presentation as AFEELA, prototypes that are more of a proof of concept than something we’ll finally see hit the market. On many occasions we regret that these prototypes will never become final products, we have experienced this rebuild from time to time and in cases like this we cross our fingers and trust in all saints that they never happen. that they are an idea, to the point that even though they see that they have reached the proof of concept stage, they seem to have gone too far.

The fruit of the collaboration between Honda and Sonythe Las Vegas event made its debut today AFEELA, the ultra-connected and ultra-intelligent car which, as you can see in the image below, focuses on the technology it implements, which ranges from the use of an augmented reality solution based on the Unreal Engine to, as I highlight in the headline of this news, the ability to use DualSense, the PlayStation 5 controller that controls.

The world of opinion is so incredibly wide that of course I understand that some people might think it’s a good idea to drive a game console remote control car, but what I’m a little more surprised that such an idea managed to pass the necessary filters enough to achieve a prototype and to present this prototype at one of the most important events of the technology sector in the world. And of course both Honda and Sony agree that their name is associated with such nonsense.

It’s 2024, so there’s another technology that can’t be missing from a prototype of this type, and at this point I’m pretty sure you already know what I’m talking about, right? Honda and Sony also say they are working with Microsoft so AFEELA assistant is based on ChatGPT. So at the same time that the augmented reality system is showing dinosaurs on the road you’re traveling on (yes, that’s right), you can take advantage of the artificial intelligence built into the car’s operating system to… increase your knowledge of dinosaurs? I don’t know, so it’s possible that the experience is educational as well as fun.

There are many delicious spices, many exceptional sauces, and great garnishes for virtually any type of food, yes, but No chef with half a brain would think of putting it all together on one plate. and then submit it to all gastronomic competitions. However, and probably due to the constant effort to stay ahead of others, there are sometimes great excesses. And AFEELA is a clear example of misstep in my opinion. And it’s a shame, because looking at the prototype, less would undoubtedly be a lot more.
