Google revamps file-sharing method (along with Samsung and LG)

The name change is now official. Nearby Share is now called Quick Share. Google decided to collaborate with Samsung to unify file sharing tools. He also chose to keep the name owned by Samsung. All Android devices will be updated and ‘Share Nearby’ will become ‘Quick Share’ which works as well as mobile phones, also on Chromebooks.

The renovation doesn’t end there because it’s just a first step. Google is also working with LG to make Quick Share an app. Pre-installed application on computers running Windows. The scope of this alliance is unknown at this time. LG laptops as well as Samsung are expected to include this option, although it’s unclear the extent of what Google will get.

The process is as simple as before. You press the button, nearby devices appear and you connect to share the file. The user can choose whether their device is visible to others. Starting next month, the Quick Share feature will be activated.

Fast Pair is coming to television

Another innovation is the arrival of the Quick Pair function Chromecasts with Google TV and other devices with Google TV throughout the year.
