Sony released the PS5 Slim last October. It was only available in white. Now, just a few months later, the Japanese brand has announced three new colors for its latest console at CES 2024. These are actually side panels that can be purchased separately.

Sony PS5 Slim gets new color options

Sony introduced the PS5 Slim with Volcanic Red, Cobalt Blue and Silver color options. It is part of the Deep Earth collection, which is identical to the original PS5 console. DualSense controllers also match the colors of the console. The new side panels have a completely matte finish, instead of the glossy and matte finish of the standard white version. The Silver option, whose colors are very vibrant, brings back all PlayStation fans by evoking the nostalgia of the original PlayStation.

The recently announced side plates are priced at $54.99 and are available for purchase separately. Users who already own the console can replace the side plates. Sony says the new colors will be available soon. Additionally, the full matte black side panel will also be released soon. It’s worth noting that the Deep Earth collection is limited to the PS5 Slim disc version.

Sony PS5 Slim is a slimmer, slimmer version of the standard PS5 with a removable disc drive. Storage has also been increased to 1TB and there is a second USB-C port on the front. However, the latest console has the same hardware power.
