The construction of the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Sewri-Nhava Sheva Atal Setu Bridge, named after the country’s former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, was conceived six decades ago but has only now been completed as part of current Prime Minister Modi’s vision for its rehabilitation. urban mobility.

The cornerstone of this six-lane bridge was laid in December 2016. In total, the bridge’s construction cost over 178 million rupees (US$2 million).

The one-way toll for passenger vehicles is set at 250 rupees ($3), but motorists who travel frequently across the bridge will be charged a different fee.

The bridge is equipped with an advanced traffic management system to ensure the safety and efficiency of its users.

According to Ukrinform, Ukraine and Romania signed an intergovernmental agreement on the construction of a bridge on the border.
