As stated on Apple’s official website, during the period of January 18-21, local customers will be able to purchase smartphones of the iPhone 15 family with a discount of up to 5%. For example, when purchasing an older Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max, you can save up to $70 on the device. This is quite an unusual practice for the company, as earlier this season it was mostly offering discounts on previous generation smartphones. In addition, smartphones of the iPhone 13 family are also offered with discounts.

Chinese Apple customers can also save on the purchase of almost all iPad models, MacBook Air laptops, Watch SE smartwatches and AirPods headphones. For example, savings on the MacBook Air can exceed $110. Previously, discounts on the latest smartphones during the first holiday season after they were announced were usually only offered by Apple’s commercial partners in China, but now it has decided to break this tradition.

According to Jefferies experts, after the launch of Huawei Mate 60 smartphones in the Chinese market in early autumn, iPhone sales fell by 30%. In addition to competition, the growth of sales volumes will also be hindered by macroeconomic factors. It is not surprising that Apple had to resort to stimulating demand through discounts in such a short time.
