SpaceX CEO Elon Musk gave a report on the company’s activities and explained its plans for 2024 and the following years.
During Starship IFT-3’s third test flight, Musk said the ship would enter orbit and run its engine, which will be powered by a small tank, in space. The goal is to show that the company can reliably deorbit the ship. Engineers also plan to make a demonstration of pumping fuel into the ship’s small tank. It is possible that this flight will carry a test payload (Starlink V2mini or Starlink V3) on Starship.
The new versions of Starship (V2 and V3) will be designed to launch a 200-ton payload into orbit. The height of the Starship (V3) system can be increased up to 150 meters.
Additionally, SpaceX will certify Falcon stages for 40 flights. The entrepreneur stated that the mission is to carry out two launches from the same launch pad within 24 hours in 2024.
