Experts announced when poverty will be eliminated in the world

Oxfam (Oxfam), the international organization that deals with the solution of poverty and related injustice problems, has published a new report. Oxfam’s report states, among other things, that since 2020, the five richest people on the planet have more than doubled their wealth, from $405 billion to $869 billion ($14 million per hour), while almost five billion people have become poorer. .

If trends continue, the first trillionaire will emerge within a decade and poverty will not be eliminated for another 229 years.

While the sharp increase in extraordinary prosperity over the past three years continues to take hold, global poverty remains at pre-pandemic levels. Billionaires became $3.3 trillion richer compared to 2020, with their wealth growing three times faster than the inflation rate.

Although only 21 percent of the world’s population lives in the countries called the global North, those living in these countries own 69 percent of the world’s wealth. The richest 1 percent own 43 percent of all financial assets. They own 48 percent of the financial wealth in the Middle East, 50 percent in Asia, and 47 percent of the financial wealth in Europe.

Oxfam has called on governments to reduce the gap between the super-rich and the rest of the population faster and more radically. This can be done by providing affordable health care and education; adoption of living wage laws; capping general manager salaries; introducing new taxes on the super-rich and corporations, including taxes on permanent wealth and excess profits; Rethinking business ideas.
