OneNetbook has announced the launch of the OneXPlayer X1, a mid-range 3-in-1 device laptop, tablet and portable game console. From January 16, it will be available on the crowdfunding platform Indiegogo.

OneXPlayer X1 is a unique device that will delight users who opt for a hybrid, or in other words, who like versatility and flexibility of use. The new OneNetbook is advertised as “The world’s first 3-in-1 portable device with a big screen” and will compete (with all reservations, as they have a different focus) with devices such as the Minisforum V3, “The industry’s first 3-in-1 device with AMD.”

The manufacturer focuses this device on games, although it would be a shame not to use it for other tasks, multimedia or basic computing, both in mobility and on the desktop. And although it’s advertised as a “handheld machine”, its screen is much larger than the average portable console with a diagonal of almost 11 inches. In return, its native resolution is very good (2.5K), as well as its variable refresh rate up to 120 Hz.

And how to play? Manufacturer includes two gamepads that connect to either side of the screen like Switch. It has not been described if these controllers can be used remotely like a Nintendo console. The tablet has a back support for placing it on a table at various angles and also includes a magnetically attached physical keyboard.

One of its advantages is certainly OCuLink support the most advanced connector for using external graphics on portable devices. OneNetbook has actually already launched its own external graphics solution (OneXGPU) with the Radeon RX 7600M XT.

Another interesting component is the processor that is mounted, and Intel Core Ultra 7 155H last generation. A remarkable chip for a handheld considering that it includes a fully integrated graphics setup with 8 Xe cores clocked at 2.25GHz and an enhanced NPU for AI tasks. It’s the same CPU from the MSI CLAW console we saw at CES, albeit with a smaller, gaming-friendly design.

To complete its main features, let’s mention the RAM LPDDR5-7500 or the aluminum chassis for the weight of 789 grams. It comes pre-installed with Windows 11 and we still don’t know the retail price. It won’t be economy scale, but very interesting as a versatile 3in1. For games and other tasks.
