At the World Economic Forum in Davos, Google presented a project on secure digitalization of the government and confirmed that the company will continue to support the cybersecurity of the Ukrainian government in 2024 and will provide 5,000 security keys to government employees.

Oleg Yakymchuk, director of interaction with state authorities, reported this on the official blog of Google Ukraine, Ukrinform reported.

According to him, the digital world has great transformation potential but also carries significant risks. Vulnerable infrastructure and outdated authentication methods leave data vulnerable to cyber attacks. This vulnerability threatens not only critical operations but also public trust and user security.

Google continues to support Ukraine’s digital transformation through various initiatives. One of the most important initiatives is the provision of 5,000 security keys to officers. These devices replace traditional passwords with physical verification, significantly increasing the security of accounts. This step will help protect critical operations and strengthen public confidence and security.

In addition to providing security keys, Google also plans to offer educational programs and training to help Ukrainian government officials understand how to use the full potential of these devices. With the help of educational materials, instructions and training, officials acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to protect their accounts. In addition, Google and the Ukrainian government will collaborate to hold joint cybersecurity workshops to share best practices and develop new strategies to protect data.

Google also held a high-level roundtable at Google House in Davos to support the dynamics of Ukraine’s digital transformation. This discussion brought together leading experts and aimed to help accelerate Ukraine’s innovation strategy, showcase Ukraine’s innovative approach to digital transformation, and shape a future based on cooperation and progress.

During the World Economic Forum in Davos, visitors to Google House have the opportunity to get acquainted with the virtual exhibition “Ukraine is a neighbor” on the Google Arts and Culture platform. This exhibition also provides a basis for discussion and further implementation of projects in the cultural and technological fields in Ukraine.

As Ukrinform reported, more than 100 heads of state and government gathered at the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, on January 15.
