The press secretary reported this on his official account. X.

Adding the US to the list is of no use and will not change Yemen’s pro-Palestine stance. But we see this as a medal of honor for supporting the Palestinian resistance in the Gaza Strip while the United States carries out its aggression against Yemen.

He pointed out that this is the “arrogant policy” of the United States and its “support for the Zionist criminal entity” towards Israel.

Mohamed Abdelsalam.

On the other hand, Mohamed al-Buhaiti, a member of the Houthi Politburo, noted on his X account that the decision “does not bring anything new.”

And this is in addition to the fact that Ansar Allah (Houthis) enjoys enormous popular support these days, unparalleled at the local, Arab, Islamic and international levels.

Al Buhaiti concluded by saying that the Houthis are “people of war” but also of peace, which is why he called on the US and UK to “stop the crimes of genocide in the Gaza Strip and end their aggression against Yemen.”

If they do so, they will cease “all” of their military operations “immediately and automatically.” Finally, he concluded.

The ball is in their court and they can call us whatever they want.

The US has declared the Houthi rebels “terrorists” days after the North American country and Britain launched a bombing campaign against military targets in movement Houthi rebels for attacks on ships associated with Israel in the Red Sea and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, which seriously affected international maritime trade.

The designation will take effect 30 days later, on February 16, although US officials told reporters that the US would “consider” suspending it if the Houthis stop their attacks in the Red Sea.

During the 30 days until this measure takes effect, the United States also intends to “design” the implementation of the sanctions that this designation entails so that they affect civilians to the minimum extent possible.

In fact, the city administration Joe Biden decided to classify the Houthi group as “Designated Global Terrorist(SDGT, in English) rather than listing it as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO, in English) because the sanctions it faces are lighter.

For example, the SDGT designation does not impose sanctions on those who provide “material support” to the Houthis, nor does it impose travel bans like FTO designation does.

Yemen, which has been at war between the Houthis and Yemen’s internationally recognized government since late 2014, is experiencing one of the worst humanitarian disasters on the planet, according to the UN.
